If Portland were war-ravaged the excellent downtown Portland toy store Billy Galaxy would not be an ongoing business kitty corner from Powell's. And, ahem, it is.
Lighten up, Francis.

Seen on a bumper sticker in San Diego (I think it read) “the despair is neverending and yet I remain silly” with an illustration of a cat in socks.

I look at mixes I made 30 years ago and think "that kid had great taste!" -- and of course I *would* think that. Still, gonna play this one today. https://artlung.com/mixtapes/1993-perverse-logic

Managed to take photos of some of my cassette covers. Slotted them into the certain ratio and they work okay. Setting initial rotation needs adjustment. https://codepen.io/artlung/full/XJXbGjR #music #mixtapes #css

Smorgasborg
This is similar to the Lab, but for stranger, goofier, and (mostly) non-technical items which I have found useful on the internet.

Complexity Lenses: An Overview by
Thomas Vander Wal
:
The focus of the lenses is to see clearly through the fog of complexity. Leaders, decision makers, managers, and interested parties often are frustrated that their spending on solutions don’t improve the situation. This frustration quite often is adjacent to “we are missing some understanding”.

Blog of the .Day
Blog of the .Day
was created by James. I am now its steward. Every day, a different user-submitted blog is highlighted at random.
Do you have a blog? Blog of the day is on GitHub: artlung/blogofthe.day. If GitHub pull requests and editing JSON
intimidate you, know that there are other ways to submit your indie blog.
The blog of the day is veronique.ink - Welcome to my tiny home on the web, where I share my art process and things I'm thinking about..
The site maintained with Eleventy and hosted on Netlify.
Tilde Club & HTML 2.0
tilde.club/~artlung/ is "retro."
It is a single page site. I assure that the code validates to the HTML 2.0 DOCTYPE. That means
CLASS or ID attributes are not allowed. That deprecated 1990s version of HTML
still allows for a readable, fairly attractive page. That code is available on GitHub:

Blog Headers (2000—)
For as long as I've been blogging I've been making visually distinct
blog headers out of my own photos, drawings, typography, quotes, and
other artwork. 800x600 pixel wide CRT screens were the norm when I started making
these using image-and-table sliced layouts. I have kept and adapted them
for the modern web and in so doing sharpened my skills in CSS. View
all the headers over here
